"For many years I had promised myself a custom built guitar. When I moved to Albury I was fortunate enough to have been able to play a couple of Joe's guitars and was particularly impressed with the WG model.

I wanted a small bodied instrument that would accommodate my open tuned picking style without compromising clarity and projection. After contacting Joe I was able to meet with him at his workshop where he showed me the timbers and tonewoods that he used. Over the next few months I was also able to play a number of Joe's guitars as he constructed them and this gave me the opportunity to try different combinations. I finally settled on the European Spruce soundboard and Indian Rosewood back and sides. I know that Joe handcrafted each guitar himself and that the waiting list was long. But I decided that an instrument like this was worth the wait.

My guitar is just what I had imagined it would be with beautiful clear tones and great sustain on the low notes. The simplicity of design and the incorporation of fiddled Blackwood bindings and Australian red gum veneer on the headstock make for a visually stunning instrument. I highly recommend Joe, his care with his clients and his professionalism and craftsmanship with his instruments. What a wonderful experience.
